Goombay Dance Band is a German euro-disco group formed in 1979, known for their tropical, Caribbean-inspired sound. Their biggest hit, “Sun of Jamaica”, released in 1979, topped the charts in Germany and reached the Top 10 in several European countries. Other notable hits include “Seven Tears” which hit No. 1 in the UK in 1982, “Aloha-Oe” and “Eldorado”. This recording was made by TROS TV Program TROS TOP 50 and broadcast on April 10, 1980.
