Howard Jones (February 23, 1955, Hampstead, England) is a singer, songwriter and synth-pop pioneer. He rose to fame in the early 1980s with energetic synthesizer-driven pop. His debut album, ‘Human’s Lib’ (1984), went straight to No. 1 in the UK, propelled by hit singles like ‘New Song’ and ‘What Is Love?’. ‘Dream Into Action’ (1985), his second studio album, cemented his global success with upbeat tracks including ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ and ‘Life in One Day’. His biggest hits include ‘What Is Love?’ which peaked at No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and reached No. 33 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ reaching No. 6 in the UK and No. 5 on the US Hot 100, and also charted in Australia, Canada, Sweden and Italy. This is a concert Howard Jones gave in the Rijnhal in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Registered and broadcasted by TROS Popformule on April 25, 1985.
