Watch Whitney Houston win the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female for "I Will Always Love You" at the 1994 Grammys.
Houston was one of the major forces at the 1994 Grammys. After opening the show with a dazzling performance of "I Will Always Love You," the six-time Grammy-winning singer won the first Grammy Award of the night for the chart-topping song. It was a full circle moment for Houston: Dolly Parton, who wrote and recorded the original song, and David Foster, who produced Houston's version, presented the Grammy Award to Houston.
Later that night, Houston would go on to win the Grammy for Record Of The Year for "I Will Always Love You" and Album Of The Year for the soundtrack album for 'The Bodyguard,' which featured the song.
The 1994 Grammys capped one of Houston's most pivotal eras: The 1992 film 'The Bodyguard' marked her feature film acting debut, while the accompanying soundtrack marked Houston's first soundtrack album.
