"E Jemja Nuse" (My Own Bride) is the third single from Shkodra Elektronike's debut, full-length album. It tells the story of a woman asserting her independence and choosing love and happiness for herself. "E Jemja Nuse" includes lyrics like: "I don’t get flowers from you / I bought the ring myself."
In our 30-minute interview, Kolë Laca and Beatriçe Gjergji explain how they wrote the original version of the song for Rezarta Smaja, who placed third at Festivali i Këngës with the song in 2021. This new, re-worked version takes on the duo's signature mix of darkness and light.
