He has developed to become one of the majestic heroes of Coldharbour in recent years. He has constantly raised the bar of expectation with every release, from the enthralling 'Perspective' (and later Markus Schulz's crafted mash-up 'The Perspective Space'), to the seminal 'Opera of Northern Ocean', described by many as a track ahead of its time, to the iconic and sensational collaboration with Susana, yielding 'Nothing at All'.
He doesn't need an introduction, but we'll give him one anyway. And Rex Mundi is back on Coldharbour Recordings with another plethora of goodness.
With Markus Schulz's Prague '11 compilation recently hitting the stores and talk of the town, many of the reasons behind it are due to Rex's personal contributions. The leading track 'Valley of Dreams' boasts two high-profile compilation appearances already, having also featured on Max Graham's Cycles 2. A Global DJ Broadcast Global Selection winner on two separate occasions, 'Valley of Dreams' boasts that typical Rex drive and energy, working wonders on the crowd particularly when Markus played it at Transmission in Prague last November.
The other featured track on Prague '11 is 'Sandstone' - a deeper, darker journey that builds throughout, and one that has drawn many praises from listeners worldwide. Already picking up the Tune of the Week accolade on A State Of Trance and multiple plays on Global DJ Broadcast, Sandstone is ideal for those early liveset moments to set the dancefloor alight. Rounding off the package is Amazone - an apt description of a track full of dark tribal influence, and one which got lots of people talking following its GDJB debut in January.
Dutchman Boy Hagemann can be very proud of what he has accomplished, and the legacy of Rex Mundi continues to grow with all three tracks on offer here.
