January 2010 brought an exciting highlight for both Armada Music and Irish number one DJ and producer John O'Callaghan. After working together for more than five years, John decided to take the next step in his career and become a label owner himself. Based on his successful radioshow and kicking off with a brand new compilation series, he started Subculture. A mastermind and perfectionist at heart, John wasn't going to settle with any random label with meaningless releases. Like his radio show, he wanted his imprint to showcase new talents within the trance and tech-trance scene and work on the future of music. Every piece on Subculture is a straight floor-sweeper and mixes the harder side of trance with the genuine, emotional layers of the genre.

In the meantime John's Subculture label has all reason to be proud - as it's grown into a breeding ground for all things trancy. Its impressive catalogue includes tracks by the likes of John Askew, Paul Webster, Nick Sentience, Heatbeat and more. John: "It represents trance with a cutting edge, and tech-trance with something more than what I think is floating around now. I will keep on doing my best to root out strictly the best tunes out there. Quality...not quantity." If you're up for a collection of those quality tunes, the official Subculture YouTube channel will surely tickle your fancy. Go check it out now!
