Lys Assia alias Rosa Mina Schärer represented Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest three times in a row but with four songs and she became the Winner of the very first edition of the contest back in 1956 with the song "Refrain". Back in 1957 seven countries competed and each performed two songs. The other song Lys Assia sang with for Switzerland is called "Das alte Karussell". Then in 1957 and 1958 she returned to the contest which in 1958 she was the runner-up with the song "Georgio". To date with the age of 89 she still goes strong and wishes to take part again at the Eurovision Song Contest.
