Rostelecom has become General Partner of the XXII Olympic Winter Games-2014 in the category "Telecommunications in 2009.
Today Rostelecom is widely involved in construction of a most powerful telecommunication infrastructure required for holding the Games and provision of TV coverage as well as provision of most up-to-date telecommunication services to the host, participants and guests of the Olympics.
Under the project "Sоchi-2014" Rostelecom will connect to the network infrastructure and provide telecommunication services to 33 different Olympic sites and will lay fiber-optic lines with a capacity up to 288 fibers with redundancy along geographically dispersed routes. The Olympic Technologies Center has been built and put in operation.
When building the infrastructure of the Games the Company uses the most advanced solutions giving consideration to environment protection, applying cutting-edge technologies which do not upset the ecological balance of the region and allow to preserve the beauty and vast variety of the nature in the Krasnodar Territory.
