🔥 In a smart home, there is a device without which everything else is secondary. We are talking about a standalone smoke detector with a built-in ~90 dB siren. In this video I will show why it is “first on the list,” how to correctly install and connect it, what it can do in Tuya, what automations and triggers it supports. And also what it can do and transmits into the Home Assistant smart home ecosystem. There will be real tests of fire alarm and smoke, checks of PUSH notification delays and siren loudness, a teardown of “what’s inside,” and also clear advice on placement in an apartment and a house.
⚙️ What’s important to know: this is a household Smoke Alarm: the siren is loud, there is an event history and push notifications;
- As an “actuator,” it only supports silent mode — you cannot “turn on the siren” remotely with scenes, and that’s correct for safety;
- Power — a 9V battery with a low-battery warning in the app;
- For general signaling via scenes, it’s better to additionally buy a separate controllable Tuya siren.
