Things are really heating up on season 2 of The Mandalorian! Ahsoka Tano showed up at last and gave us an integral piece of Baby Yoda, Grogu’s, backstory. Evidently he was saved from Order 66 at the Jedi Temple by some faceless hero. This has, of course, led to rampant speculation as to who this mysterious hero could be. Well, the internet has spoken and it has decided that Mace Windu would be the coolest choice to save Grogu from his certain demise at the hands of the clones and Darth Vader!

But wait? Didn’t we see Mace Windu meet his end during The Revenge of the Sith? Well, like Boba Fett and Darth Maul before him, just because you take a big fall in the Star Wars universe doesn’t mean that the landing took you down. It seems almost inevitable at this point that Master Windu will join the other resurrected Star Wars characters so why not on The Mandalorian?

If they do show Mace saving Baby Yoda, they’ll also have to explain what he’s been up to all this time. This could even lead to a Disney+ series or comic that follows his adventures. Then they could have Mace show up to volunteer to train Baby Yoda to be a proper Jedi master! Unfortunately, the pair are also being hunted by another warrior Mace Windu knows too well...

So let’s dive right into why Mace Windu should be the one who rescued Baby Yoda from Order 66!
