Why Star Wars Has So Many Different Helmets

The world of Star Wars is filled with so much detail that you could almost write a story about one off handed reference. In fact, that exacted thing has happened when Obi Wan briefly mentions the Clone Wars and then, years later, that’s both a movie and a series. It’s this kind of detail that makes the Star Wars universe feel lived in and vibrant. One of the many details that went into making the movies live up to that potential is the amount of attention that went into making the helmets including inventing a new way to make film props. The finer points both on and off screen that go into such notable brain buckets as the Storm Trooper helmets, the Clone Troopers, and the First order as well as big bads like Darth Vader and Kylo Ren. But they’re not the only one that want to protect their cranium from damage, the rebels get in on the game as well. Perhaps even more importantly, though, is the group that brought sweet helmets to the fictional world of Star Wars, and that’s the Mandalorians. Let’s take a look at some of the on screen and off screen elements that went into making the coolest sets of helmets to exist in any comic book or cinematic world and explore the world of the Star Wars brain buckets.
