Since 2011, Thor has been on our television screens and across theaters, becoming a lovable character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I know we all felt our hearts break when Thor became so close to stopping Thanos, but didn’t aim for the head. However, even with Thor: Love and Thunder right around the corner it looks like Thor -- is getting a reboot. Coming from Saban Films, a new film called “Mortal”, directed by André Øvredal, is making its way into theaters and this new protagonist has some shocking similarities to our already well known Asgardian -- like the power to control lightning.

The film is heavily based on Norse Mythology and the only God to be able to control lightning is Thor so is this a reimagining of our hero? If so I want to know a few things? What awesome powers will our new hero have? In the MCU, we’ve seen Thor make lightning rain down from the sky, fly, and go toe to toe with the likes of Hulk and Thanos. So, will our new protagonist be able to do the same? I also want to know why our new protagonist is on Earth and why is he just now getting his powers? What’s his backstory and is there a possible relation to Odin? In this video we are breaking down the powers, story, and even villains we may see in relation to the MCU version of Thor because we may have a new God of Thunder on our hands.
