What Lucifer Changed From the Comics
Subscribe: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-CBR
How amazing was that twist at the end of part 1 of Lucifer’s fifth season?! After a godly twist like that, everyone desires more Lucifer RIGHT NOW. That being said, there’s nowhere to go to get it. We have to wait until Netflix drops the rest of season five. Or do we?
You see, Lucifer is actually based on the Lucifer Morningstar character from the DC Vertigo line. Like his television show counterpart, this Lucifer Morningstar also abandons his domain to open a fancy piano bar in Los Angeles. From there, the character goes in a very different direction.
Watch as we explore these two very different Morningstars and the journeys they go through. While the television show might follow Lucifer’s adventures solving crimes for the LAPD, the comic book version goes through a much more cosmic adventure. The two also have drastically different end goals which both series explore.
The themes of the two series are also very different. We will analyze the themes of predestination versus the value of love as we go through the literary influences on both works. We will also look at the supporting cast to see how drastically different their roles are in the story. It might surprise you learn that some of the most important characters in the series aren’t even featured in the books themselves.
So come with us as we dive deep into the lore of Lucifer Morningstar and the other Lucifer Morningstar, exploring the differences between the show and the comic.
