In this episode of the CBR Saga we discuss what is arguably the greatest story arc in anime history - the Frieza Saga of Dragon Ball Z. The battle between Goku and Frieza is celebrated the world over, not only for how many episodes it took to complete, but also for the simple fact that it's the first time Goku went Super Saiyan. The story arc also sees a pivotal turning point for Vegetta, as well as the loss of Krillin. Frieza himself is solidified as one of the best villains of all time as he goes from overpowered terror, to the snivelling weakling who can't hold a candle to Goku and ultimately tries to take one final cheao shot.

We're going to recap the entire saga, and discuss the lasting impact it had on not only the Dragon Ball franchise itself, but also the anime genre as a whole. Regardless of whether or not you've watched a single episode of Dragon Ball, you've almost certainly heard of Frieza or can recognize his character design. The saga itself has become somewhat of a meme for how long it lasted and across how many episodes it took place. Join us for this discussion and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
