When Captain America throws his mighty shield, we all know that those who chose to oppose his shield must yield. But what happens when Captain America throws the judgemental hammer known as Mjolnir? Well, since he’s worthy, it’s Captain America who becomes the Mighty one...possessing the power of Thor. What goes into the power of Thor, exactly? And how long does that power last? In the comics Thor use to turn back into Dr. Donald Blake when he was separated from his hammer for more than sixty seconds, but since then things have evolved...including Donald Blake who has been both a real and separate person and a figment of Thor’s imagination. There have been others, however, who have proved worthy of Mjolnir and the powers of Thor, including a particularly noble frog named Throg, a Korbonite named Beta Ray Bill, and Thor’s on again off again love Jane Foster. All of them have had some set of rules for their power, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what are the rules of the Powers of Thor? Do they also include that legendary Asgardian longevity? Could Steve Rogers get his long life not just from clean living and the super serum but also from the Asgardian power that he inherited? What would that mean for the MCU? Let’s take a look and see how likely it is that Captain America might be immortal now.
