Odin Had A Different Fate In The MCU

It’ll be a while before “Thor: Love and Thunder” hits theatres, but the MCU isn’t leaving us starved for new content. “Thor: Ragnarok” was full of tragedy and loss, but one of the film’s major moments was almost incredibly different. Odin’s passing is a tragic moment for Thor and Loki, but at least there was peace and closure between the brothers and their father in the moments before he moves on to Valhalla. In a recently released deleted scene that’s part of Marvel’s “Infinity Saga” box set, Odin’s passing is a lot darker and doesn’t give Thor or Loki any opportunity to make peace with the loss of their father. Instead, Hela introduces herself to the gods a little early and plays a pivotal role in Odin’s demise. How would such a major change have affected the rest of the film? And why was it changed in the first place? We’ve got all the details, including some input from the director himself, Taika Waititi.
