Clearly the first time the Wet Bandits went up against Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister they didn’t learn their lesson! In Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern reprised their roles as Harry Lyme and Marv Merchant and managed to make it to the big apple. But just how did these two bumbling blokes manage to escape prison? Before they rebranded themselves as the Sticky Bandits, they took advantage of a prison riot and slipped out of police custody. Now, these guys have a reputation for being less than stellar criminals but what if they’re smarter than most fans of the franchise give them credit for? We’ll hit you with a fan theory that could give you a whole new respect for these two. Well, “respect” is a strong word. . .maybe you’ll just think they’re slightly more competent than you used to!
What do you think about the criminal skills of these two notorious burglars? Do you think people tend to underestimate them or are they really a couple of hapless buffoons? Would they still be out there breaking the law if they’d simply been able to give up going after one particular kid? Tell us what you think about their criminal careers in the comment section below and then give this video a big thumbs up!
