When Disney announced that they’re new streaming service would launch with a Star Wars show about a bounty hunter, everyone’s first thought was: Boba Fett? He was the most iconic helmeted cowboy the series had seen (until Mando) and even the fact that he’d been chucked off a ledge didn’t deter the speculation.
But when the Mandolorian came out and all we got was this new, mysterious bounty hunter and a little Baby Yoda, fans were confused. Not because the show needs Boba Fett, necessarily, but because it would be so easy to drop him in and please all the fans. Anyway, that didn’t happen, until now.
At the end of episode five, when Mando and his green fungus friend are flying away from Tatooine, it cuts back to the assassin that was shot earlier in the episode. She’s lying on the ground, either deceased or just out for the count, and a mysterious pair of boots (and a cape) walk over to her. If you listen closely, you can hear a very familiar sound. Not only that, but this whole thing is happening on Tatooine, the old of the old bounty hunter. So could it really be him? Could Mando be pit against the other most famous bounty hunter? Well, only time will tell, but we’ve also got some ideas.
