With the CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event now so close we can taste it, there is more information than ever coming out of all corners of the Arrowverse. We have so many confirmed characters in the mix, a handful of Supermans bopping around everywhere, and a ton more to come. But the one, very important character who we haven’t seen cross our paths yet is the big bad himself: The Anti Monitor. We have known for a while that The Anti Monitor would be one of the big players in the Crisis, if not the biggest. And yet, there has been no sign of him so far. So where is the Anti Monitor? And more importantly, who is he?

In the comic books, The Anti Monitor was a creature born out of pure energy in the antimatter universe. His counterpart, The Monitor, was pretty much the same. Except, you know, reverse. The Monitor and the Anti Monitor wound up in a million year war with one another, which eventually led to a nine billion year long nap. Over time, they were both woken up by Pariah, and The Anti Monitor set out on a quest to destroy all positive matter life universes. Which is where we find ourselves in the Crisis on Infinite Earths, with the Anti Monitor out to destroy the homes of all of our Arrowverse heroes, and The Monitor doing his best to stop him.
