Rick and Morty is officially back, and the first two episodes of season four have already proven that, even after a two year break, the show hasn’t lost any of its awesomeness. In the second episode of season four, we got to see the Smith family interact with a couple of new characters, and they did not disappoint. The first was a little pink alien named Glootie, who entered the scene early as Rick’s intern. Right off the bat, he started asking if any of the family would be interested in developing an app with him, an idea that Rick quickly shut down. Oh yeah, and he has a tattoo on his forehead that specifically says not to get into the app business with Glootie. As you can tell, shenanigans ensue, and Jerry gets easily sucked into Glootie’s scheme. Glootie was voiced by New Zealand import Taika Waititi, the actor and director behind such amazing movies as Hunt For The Wilderpeople, What We Do In The Shadows, and Thor: Ragnarok. Another New Zealander joined the cast this week as well, with Jurassic Park alum and Hunt For The Wilderpeople star Sam Neil coming in to lend his voice to the leader of Glootie’s alien species.
Another character was also introduced this week, and that was the green alien Tony. Tony gets mixed up with in his side adventure about the perfect toilet (yup), and winds up an unwilling participant in Rick’s story. He was voiced by the great Jeffry Wright of Westworld acclaim, along with about a hundred other epic movies and TV shows.
