Goku and Vegeta are sort of but not really friends. They could definitely be considered friends at some points, but at other times, they’re more like allies. Regardless of the status of their relationship, Goku has had Vegeta’s back in quite a few instances. From the Saiyan Saga to the Buu Saga, there’s no denying that Goku is often looking out for Vegeta. This is even more the case in Dragon Ball Super, since while they weren’t exactly friends in Dragon Ball Z, they have become much closer in the latest series in the franchise. Heck, even in Dragon Ball Super Broly, the two were working together throughout the whole film.
Some major instances of Goku having Vegeta’s back include when he spared him in the Saiyan Saga, when he saved him and the entire Earth from Cell’s self-destruction in the Cell Saga, when he killed Frieza in the Golden Frieza Saga, and when he teamed up with him to fight Jiren in the Tournament of Power during the Universal Survival Saga. Suffice to say, Goku is no stranger to backing up Vegeta, be it by fighting alongside him or saving him from a powerful opponent.
In this video, we go through all of the instances of Goku having Vegeta’s back from the beginning of Dragon Ball Z to end of Dragon Ball Super. Check out the video to learn all the times that Goku backed up his former enemy and don’t forget to subscribe to CBR for more Dragon Ball videos.
