The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity Saga has been a wild ride. From the introduction of Iron Man in 2008 to epic conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, the House of Ideas has done what no one thought was possible. It delivered a series of interconnected movies that operate like the comic books they’re based on. That means Captain America and Doctor Strange coexist and the stories are open ended and on going, but they’re still movies and, unlike issues of the comic books, there isn’t a new Guardians of the Galaxy coming out every month. Movies have to have endings and characters like Spider-Man can’t remain a teenage for almost sixty years. This means that the movies have to come up with a satisfying ending.
With as many as four MCU movies coming out each year, these endings have to satisfy a storyline, but still leave you wanting to come back for more action and more answers. It’s all fine to have foiled Yellowjacket, but to find out that Falcon is looking for the guy who calls himself Ant-Man? Well, that’s even better. But, sometimes, endings can disappoint, even more so when things change in the next movie. It can be something as simple as the Hulk wearing a new face in a new place and never talking about his girlfriend again. From the journey of Thor to the trials of Black Panther in Wakanda or the status of Spider-Man and Iron Man’s secrets, endings can make a movie, so we decided to rank every MCU final scene from worst to best.
