Spider-Man: Far From Home was a fun film, but it’s ending was shocking and could have everlasting consequences not only for the Spider-Man franchise, but Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Without spoiling anything, it’s very possible that both the mid-credits and post-credits scenes of Spider-Man: Far From Home are setting up the Dark Avengers in the MCU and the Skrulls could come into play with that.
The Dark Avengers are a team of villains who disguised themselves as established heroes, pretending not only to be the good guys, but actually the heroes themselves and they were assembled by Norman Osborn. The Dark Avengers helped turn the former Green Goblin into one of the best Marvel villains and it’s very possible the same will happen in the MCU. During the Secret Invasion storyline, Norman Osborn becomes the hero known as the Iron Patriot and, with the help of the Thunderbolts, he’s able to fight against the Skrulls. Following that, Osborn becomes the head of H.A.M.M.E.R., a replacement for S.H.I.E.L.D., and, eventually, he forms the Dark Avengers. The Dark Avengers storyline is one of the best stories Marvel has done in the comics in recent years and it’ll be a perfect story for Phase 4 and beyond.
With the ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home, we think it makes a lot of sense that Marvel Studios is setting up the Dark Avengers.
In our video, we’ll explore the Dark Avengers and reveal how we think the team will come into play in the MCU.
