The Avengers has turned out to be the best gamble for the then fledgling Marvel Cinematic Universe, operating at the center of over 20 movies and over a decade of content. With the grand plans of Thanos done and undone the original Avengers have either taken an early retirement or a tragic end leading the future of the team in question. You have the press asking Spider-man if he’ll take up the leadership and Falcon in a will he or won’t he relationship with the Captain America shield and mantle. This vacuum at the top not only opens the door for new Avengers but also for a bunch of alternate Avengers teams, like the West Coast Avengers, the Young Avengers, or even Norman Osborn’s fake Avengers made up of bad guys pretending to be good guys, the Dark Avengers. Whether he was recruiting look alikes and stand ins for Avengers such as the Hulk’s son Skaar or Wolverine’s offspring Daken or just taking what he can get recruiting the spider-god Ai Apeac the Decapitator or the mysterious hero The Sentry, Norman Osborn’s Dark Avengers could throw a wrench in the new world of the MCU.
