In December of this year (2018, in case you're reading this in the future!), a new Spider-Man movie will be hitting theatres around the world - but it won't be like any of the Spider-Man movies we've seen in theatres before.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be an animated feature with Miles Morales, not Peter Parker, as the titular star - and it looks absolutely fantastic!

A trailer was recently released that shows some beautiful CG animation and gave a vague idea of what the movie's plot will be - which looks like it's going to be a little different to the comic book story of the same name.

In this video, we'll look at just some theories fans have conceived about the movie.

The theories in question are; that the movie will be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), that Peter Parker will be resurrected after dying in the movie, that Andrew Garfield's Spidey will make an appearance in the movie, that Tobey Maguire's Spidey will make an appearance in the movie, that Tom Hardy's Venom will make an appearance in the movie, that it's testing the waters for Miles Morales to appear in the MCU, that Peter Parker will be a fat burger-loving slob in the movie, that it won't perform very well commercially, that it will be the first of many movies in a new animated franchise, and that it will inspire DC to create a similar animated franchise.
