Captain America seems to be a superhero who bleeds red, white and blue. He embodies the core beliefs of American values. Since first appearing in March 1941 during World War 2, Captain America has been a Nazi-punching, communist-hating poster boy for patriotism. He fought the Axis of Evil as a super soldier for the Allied Forces, showcasing how strong America can be in the face of danger. His bravery and courage motivated the troops and he dedicates his existence to protecting the American way of life.

We mean, he’s called Captain America for a reason, right? Well, it turns out he might not be the patriotic American we’ve all been led to believe he is. Cap has done plenty of shady things that make us question if he’s even a good guy after all, never mind an American hero. Watch to see all of our reasons why Captain America isn’t very patriotic in today’s video!
