Leonardo Da Vinci Was The First Iron Man

Long before S.H.I.E.L.D. was operational, there was the Brotherhood of the Shield. It all started in Ancient Egypt when Imhotep, chancellor of the Pharaoh Djoser, created the organization to fight the Brood invasion. The team was originally small, and made out of Imhotep himself, the immortal future villain Apocalypse, and what seems to be a very early version of Moon Knight.
While the Brotherhood of the Shield has changed over the years, and took different forms, its members were most often highly intelligent individuals such as Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei, Michelangelo or Leonardo da Vinci. Interestingly enough, it is this group of inventors, and engineers that first defeated the giant threat that is Galactus.
What interests me most in this video is one of Marvel’s most used of these pioneers of justice: Leonardo da Vinci. In the Marvel universe, he is known for the creation of many inventions such as an iron suit which helped him fly to the sun in order to deal with an unidentified enemy. Just like Tony Stark, Leonardo da Vinci’s curiosity brought him to invent amazing weapons and gadgets for the greater good. He even created a robotic version of himself to live out his mortal life, as he eventually time travelled using one of his devices.
Unintentionally responsible for a lot of chaos, like the creation of Leviathan, and Hydra, but also of S.H.I.E.L.D, and using self-made armors to fight against villains, Leo has a lot in common with Tony. This makes him the very first Iron Man.
