MCU History Lesson
Subscribe: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-CBR
The world can be a strange place. That can be especially true if the world you live in is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On top of the regular batch of unexplained phenomenon you have superheroes running about. Did aliens really bombard Louisiana in the 90s or is that just crazy talk? Or did Captain Marvel save the day and we just not mention it for another 30 years while she traipsed about in space? From super soldiers like Captain America helping win World War II to not quite as successful super soldiers like the Hulk fighting in Harlem, the world is a confusing place. Well, we’re here to sort it out. Just what laid the groundwork to Asgardians working out their sibling rivalry in New York? Why, in the vastness of space, did Earth end up with half of the Infinity Stones? Who is the bigger jerk, Thanos or the Kree? Why is so much of Earth’s history alternating between ill fated super soldier programs and space jerks? We’ll look at the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the inside to see how we got here and what it might mean for the future jumping from the Cosmic Calendar to tumultuous 21st Century when a plucky industrialist built himself a suit of armor and privatized world peace. From alien invasions and science projects to ridiculous plans and fleeting friendships, this is the history of the MCU up to this point and what all that noise meant. And a pretty decent lesson in not listening to anyone from space who has an idea for a new kind of soldier.
