Dragon Ball: Is Goku Smart?

Goku is often seen by fans as being dumb, dumwitted or stupid, and while it’s true that he’s not academically smart, Goku is far from being an idiot. In this video we take a look at all the ways in which Goku is actually smart, using an actual psychological theory to do so. Based on the idea that there are multiple types of intelligence, Goku is smart in facets outside of academic intelligence, showing proficiency in physicality, intelligence in his relationship with nature and a strong sense of self. You don’t have to look hard to see beyond Goku’s lack of social grace and formal schooling to find an intelligent individual, a diversely intelligent one at that. Check out this video to see how we analyze Goku and what we know about intelligence to determine once and for all that Goku is not as dumb as the memes or the exageratted dimwitted moments of Dragon Ball Super would have you believe.
