The Logos and Emblems of Attack on Titan Explained
Subscribe: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-CBR
Attack on Titan makes strong use of emblems and logos in its entire run. Each of them have their own meaning, and represent particular divisions or people found in the anime and manga. The most noticeable ones are the three military branches emblems. We have the Training Corps clashing swords, representing the trainees, the Garrison’s red roses which symbolizes the soldiers protecting the people within the walls, and the Military Police Brigade’s green unicorn which personifies the corrupted elite officers not doing much within Wall Sheena. And let’s not forget the Three Military Branches emblem, the shield, which is proudly worn by General Darius Zackly.
Paradis Island is not the only entity using emblems in the series. The three walls protecting its people from titan attacks also have their own emblems. Whether it is Wall Maria, Wall Rose or Wall Sheena, all three use the same shield that the three military branches use, but with the profile of different royal members overlaid on top of it.
Finally, as we have discovered with the final season, Eldians living in Marley have their own emblem: the nine branch star. These armbands have four different colors in the anime, each with different meanings: brown, grey, yellow, and red. However, in the manga, the brown and grey armbands are replaced by a white one, but as you will see this doesn’t change much.
In this video, I will analyze each emblem and the story behind them to fully understand the icons used in Attack on Titan.
