Star Wars lore is a constantly expanding, consistently exciting subject that fans will literally never stop obsessing over. The never ending wars between the light side and the dark that consume the rest of the galaxy are as fascinating as the lore that writers of both canon and legends have fleshed out over the years. One of the best aspects of Star Wars lore are the Dark Jedi, the dark side force users who don’t identify as Jedi or Sith. These often forgotten characters in Star Wars lore have fallen into obscurity since the Disney canon wiped most of them out. If I’m reading the signs of the future of the franchise correctly though, I think they’re about to make a comeback! So what better time is there to go over the fascinating history of the Dark Jedi, their powers and even some of the most famous of their order?

First we’ll start with where the term Dark Jedi comes from. The book series that offered us our first continuing journeys of Star Wars long before the sequels or even the prequels would try. Then we’ll go over the history that followed as more writers took a crack at their version of the backstory of the Jedi and their dark counterparts. Finally, we’ll show the canonical and legends Dark Jedi that have made the term so legendary and even the ones who may be on the way.
