HBO Max just did what many Mortal Kombat fans thought was impossible. They managed to out do the original 1995 Mortal Kombat movie for one with plenty of brutal fatalities, new characters and all the Sub-Zero vs Scorpion action we’ve all wanted since the first game came out. Now a Mortal Kombat movie is only as good as the villains our heroes fight. Luckily, Shang Tsung brought a team of some of Shao Kahn’s greatest warriors to take on Raiden’s team of Earthrealm defenders.

He came to the planet with plenty of supernatural soldiers like Goro, Sub-Zero, Kabal, Mileena, Reiko, Reptile and Nitara. Not only that but Kabal managed to get fellow Black Dragon Kano to join in on the fun. The team takes on Raiden’s forces and manages to give the likes of Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Jax, Kung Lao and newcomer Cole Young a proper run for their money. Things look incredibly bleak until they all start unlocking their new powers and performing some flawless victories of their own that made every fan eager for the next sequel to Mortal Kombat 11.

With how stacked Shang Tsung’s crew from Outworld was the only thing remaining to figure out is how they should be ranked. I mean who is deadlier, an expert ninja like Sub-Zero or the brutal prince Goro?
