Bloodbending is one of the creepiest of all bending types out there so far featured in Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. But since Katara worked hard to make the bending art illegal, bloodbending wasn’t given a fair chance to evolve beyond its initial uses. Of course, Amon used it in an energybending way bringing it one step further, but imagine where the skill could have been taken if it was experimented upon like Toph did with metalbending.
Throughout this video be on the lookout for questions, ideas, and possible avenues where we could take the discussion further. I will start by explaining the basics of bloodbending when explaining how bloodbending was initially only possible when the moon was full and high in the night sky. Things changed drastically with the arrival of Yakone and his two sons, Tarrlok and Noatak. The Full Moon did not have to be in the equation anymore, and bloodbending was then possible during daytime. While it keeps being a rare bending art style, and might be so because of its rumoured hereditary nature, it’s nevertheless a real force of nature that I believe has yet to be developed to its full potential.
In today’s video, I will discuss the secrets behind bloodbending, the martial technique it is based on, its relation to energybending, and it’s evolution throughout the franchise. I will also expand on the waterbending sub-skill to reveal all of its possible uses from psychic bloodbending to life-altering potential healing abilities. Thanks for watching CBR!
