While Dragon Ball Super the anime has been off the air for quite a while now, the manga has been alive and kicking well beyond the Tournament of Power and Dragon Ball Super: Broly. We’ve seen Goku and Vegeta go up against their most powerful opponent ever in the form of Planet Eater Moro. While it seemed like this arc would FINALLY give him a chance to shine over Goku...in the end, the Prince of all Saiyans was sidelined yet again so that Goku could master Ultra Instinct and obliterate Moro. Luckily, the latest Dragon Ball Super arc looks to be giving him another chance to rise over Kakarot.
The latest saga sees the last survivor of the Cerealeans, Granolah, wishing himself to be the most powerful warrior in the universe in order to gain vengeance on the Saiyans and Frieza for decimating his planet. While Goku trains with Whis to master the technique of the Angels, Ultra Instinct, Prince of all Saiyans is training with Beerus to master the technique of the gods of destruction, destruction itself. This may be enough to take Granolah down and to prove he is worthy of overcoming Goku...if just for a little while. More than that, it may give him a new perspective on his past and lead him to a brighter future.
