This anime show has an interesting history in the hearts of anime fans. It was previously one of the “Big 3” in Shonen Jump before experiencing a tremendous fall from grace. It seemed to happen overnight as this show was on everyone’s mind to suddenly dropping off the face of the earth. Why was this exactly? The steady decline of the manga’s overall popularity may have something to do with it. The presence of filler in the anime could also be a factor, though this would have little impact on the overall manga. Of course, we aren’t here to talk about the history of this show, we’ll leave that to Super Eyepatch Wolf. Instead, we are here to celebrate some of the most amazing and powerful Guardians of the Souls, in the entire franchise. This anime show really set itself apart by having one of the oddest power systems in a battle shonen. The Guardians of the Souls didn’t have a set power level like other series, but it would be dependent on the power of their sword, or zanpakuto. These powers can range from the odd to the downright world ending. The series' main protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki manages to become one of the most powerful Guardians of the Souls, but even he doesn’t top this list.
