UPDATE: By now, Elden Ring players know this adorable creature is called a "Living Jar" and have likely encountered a few, whether they're en route to fight Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle or creeping around Raya Lucaria Academy, dodging Glintstone projectiles from its Karolos Mask-wearing sorcerers - or in the aptly named Jarburg. Maybe they've even run afoul of one of its larger relatives in the wilds of Caelid. In any case, we made this video back in simpler times, when this little crockery critter was just known as "pot boi."

Since Elden Ring's first gameplay trailer, one creature has fascinated fans above all else: Pot Friend (AKA Pot Boy, or "Pot Boi") - This little guy has since gone on to inspire tons of memes and fanart, even making an appearance on stage at The Game Awards. Like any FromSoftware action RPG, Elden Ring's epic open world is undoubtedly filled with tons of unforgettable bosses, enemies, and NPCs but there's something extra special about this mysterious denizen of The Lands Between. So, we decided to build our very own Pot Friend from scratch. Join Max Scoville as he helps pass the time until Elden Ring's release date with a walkthrough of his creative process from sculpting and crafting, to painting and terrain building. Prepare to DIY!
