Severance Season 2 Ending Explained: How Does It Set Up Season 3?

Another year at Lumon has come to a close, leaving us with more Severance answers and yet somehow more Severance questions than ever before too. The Eagan family experienced some major losses, but things weren’t all sunshine and roses for Mark, Helly, Dylan, and Irving either.
“You and your family created hell and you’re going to burn in it,” an enraged Helly R. tells Jame Eagan in the beginning of the Severance Season 2 finale. But will they? Watch the video and let’s dig in!

We learn a lot about what’s going on at Lumon before the credits roll on Season 2. We’ve spent almost four years wondering what the Macro Data Refinement (MDR) team was doing on the severed floor, and it turns out that every time Mark (Adam Scott) and his team complete a new file, they create a new consciousness for Mark's wife, Gemma (Dichen Lachman).
Meanwhile, Helly (Britt Lower) - or is it Helena? - remains a big mystery. Dylan G. (Zach Cherry) reminds her that nobody could tell the difference between the two aside from Irving (John Turturro). Mr. Milchik (Tramell Tillman) stages a big celebration for the completion of Cold Harbor, Ms. Cobel (Patricia Arquette) is back and seemingly working with Mark, and Mr. Drummond (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson)... well, yikes.
