Alien: Earth | Full Season, Non-Spoiler Review

Alien: Earth, the latest in the long running franchise built on the exoskeleton of one of the scariest movie monsters ever created, drops its first season with a confident and vibesy evolution. Simultaneously providing fans with the eggs (Easter and Xenomorph) they expect, and shedding concerns of fitting into continuity, Noah Hawley has made an amazing piece of science fiction on the strength of solid production and creature design, an incredible cast, and surprising needle drops that make me want a cigarette.

Alien: Earth also has more in common with Star Wars and Andor than you might think, with both series serving as prequels to some truly iconic sci fi of late 70s cinema. Timothy Olyphant having a blast playing a synthetic in the Ash or Bishop mode, while Babou Ceesay offers a more human view on cyborgs and Sydney Chandler turns in an incredible performance as Wendy, a child whose consciousness is moved into a new supercomputer synth body. The series tugs on some interesting threads, sometimes close to breaking point, but overall, Noah Hawley has followed Fargo and Legion with another winner.
