Rita Repulsa creates her deadliest weapon: the evil Green Ranger, Tommy Oliver, who infiltrates and nearly destroys the Power Rangers. Under Rita's control, Tommy unleashes the Dragonzord on Angel Grove, leaving the Rangers struggling to defend their city. With Zordon's guidance, the team discovers that destroying Tommy's Sword of Darkness will break Rita's spell. In a climactic battle, the Red Ranger frees Tommy, who redeems himself by joining the team, strengthening the Rangers for future battles.
