The Green with Evil saga in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers introduces Tommy Oliver, a new student with martial arts skills. Rita Repulsa, seeing his potential, manipulates him into becoming the evil Green Ranger. Tommy wreaks havoc on the Power Rangers, even infiltrating the Command Center and disabling Zordon and Alpha. As Tommy battles the Rangers in his Green Ranger form, the heroes must find a way to stop him before his evil control destroys them all. The story arc, spanning five episodes, explores themes of betrayal, redemption, and teamwork​.

Empowered to transform into the Power Rangers, they face Rita's monsters while managing teenage life. The story intensifies with the introduction of the Green Ranger, Tommy Oliver, initially a brainwashed foe.
