This video shows part of the fiery trail of a Capricornid meteor, captured by a high-resolution camera system at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center on Aug, 1 at 12:17 a.m. EDT. The brilliant Capricornid meteor was streaking through a clear patch of sky and traveling at 54,000 miles per hour. It was first seen 53 miles above Toney, Ala., and moved north by northwest before burning up in a flash of light 47 miles above Taft, Tenn. (NASA/MSFC/MEO)
