Welcome to Eurovision This Week! This is your update of the 19th of February. In Host Country Israel, Kobi Marimi won the national selection. His song will be announced at a later date.
Greece and Poland announced their artists. Greece will be represented by Katerine Duska while Tulia will be on stage for Poland in Tel Aviv.
Five national finals took place this weekend. On Saturday Victor Crone won the Estonian selection Eesti Laul with the song Storm. In Estonia’s neighbouring country Latvia, the final of Supernova took place. Carousel won with the song This Night and will represent Latvia in May. Slovenia picked their song on Saturday night. Sebi will be performed by Zala Kralj and Gašpar Šantl in Tel Aviv. In Croatia, the final of Dora was won by Roko with the song The Dream. ‘On A Sunday’ is the song Romania picked last Sunday. Ester Peony will represent Romania in Tel Aviv.
Australia’s participation as a competitor at the Eurovision Song Contest has been secured until 2023. Until now, Australia’s right to participate was up for consideration year by year. Now, for the first time, a five year guarantee was given to broadcaster SBS.
