"Life and Breath” is the third studio album by The Whispers which was released in 1972, before their time with Solar Records. This was the last album that original member Gordy Harmon appeared on before injuring his larynx in a driving accident in 1973. He was eventually replaced by former Friends of Distinction member Leaveil Degree who is still with the Whispers to this present day. This album helped the group crack the top 50 in the USA R&B charts for the second time in a row during the heavy R&B era of the early 70s. Life and Breath is always a welcomed album when exploring The Whispers discography, really showing off their early roots.
