Rap and country crossover are nothing new, as St. Louis rapper Nelly blended elements of country music in his melodic raps and Young Thug took inspiration from the genre on ‘Beautiful Thugger Girls.’ Lil Nas X joins Lil Tracy (“Like a Farmer”), DaBaby (“Walker Texas Ranger”), and FlyRich Double (“Yup (On My Tractor)“) as the latest rapper to score a viral country trap hit in the past year.
