Georgia Anne Muldrow has made music explicitly about the Black experience for almost two decades, leading audiences into conversations about liberation and injustice whether they were ready or not. And now, at a time when Black Lives Matter protests are similarly forcing greater society to pay attention to things she’s been singing about for years, she is taking time to rest, and to listen.
“It's really just about a person who has devoted their lives to making their creativity a place of resistance,” Muldrow says about her song “This Walk.”
“It's like trying to figure out a way to not burn out when you feel like you said everything that you could have possibly said.”
