Sommerset is a country group from Driebergen, the Netherlands, formed around the three Sommer brothers, Hans, André and Ronald Sommer, who scored a few hits in the mid-seventies.
There were many changes in the line-up: singer/guitarist Ab van Woudenberg, Guus Paat, Ernst Makily and Pim Fuchs were at some stage part of the band. When singer Rosina Lauwaars joined the band became more succesfull. The group even performed in the country music mecca Nashville, Tennessee.
Their biggest hits were 'Almost Persuaded' and 'Another Lonely Night' that both ended on #14 in the Dutch Top 40.
RIP Hans Sommer who deceased on August 15, 2021.

Rosina Lauwaars and Ab van Woudenberg formed the group Harmony, that became the Dutch entry into the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978. They ended 13th.
