Director's note: "Working for Aricia Mess was an honor as I find her songs powerful and authentic. I feel like each song of the album has an important message to share or questions to think of, around human beings and the world we are living in.
I was glad to be directing the music video for "Viralata Humana".
“Is HumanKind mostly good or bad?” was the question Aricia was wondering about.
I had to think first of what could be my answer to this huge question which will be subjective - my own interpretation and perception of the world but looking for an anwser that most could relate to.
I remembered the good as well as the bad I have done to myself and others. I remembered all the good as well as the bad that happened in the world because of people. I wondered about the reasons that push humans and myself to act and think in a negative way.
I come to believe that until we (humankind) do not find peace within ourselves and try to reach this feeling of acceptance (which probably takes a lifetime to find), we will tend to do wrong and hurt ourselves and others with fear, insecurity or ignorance.
Then I tought, at the moment you try to get rid of the ‘social mask’ that most of us are wearing and look for your truth, you can find peace and tend to spread ‘good’ – Free from the fear of anxiety leading to overthinking and overreaction. Everyone is his own universe – respect and care for yours and you will be able to acknowledge and understand better the others.
To conclude, I believe that no one is ‘bad’ but no one is ‘good’ either. Everything depends on how one confronts their past and forgive themself and others for their mistakes as well as accepting the unfairness of life.
This is the answer we tried to portray with the music video."
