The Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach are one of the most stunning works ever written for the keyboard. Composed in 1741, legend says this composition was meant to help a count fall asleep. It’s named after the harpsichordist Johann Gottlieb Goldberg. It starts with a simple, beautiful theme called the 'Aria.' From there, Bach takes us on a journey through 30 variations, each exploring different emotions, from lively dances to deep reflection. The work ends as it began, with the 'Aria.' Only now, it feels richer, transformed by everything we've heard. The Goldberg Variations are a masterclass in creativity and emotion.
