Alejandro Sanz, born Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro in Madrid on December 18, 1968, is one of Spain's most celebrated singer-songwriters and international artists. Emerging from a challenging neighborhood in Madrid, Sanz became a global icon with his heartfelt songs that combine flamenco influences with contemporary pop elements.
His career began under the pseudonym Alejandro Magno with the 1989 album “Los Chulos Son Pa' Cuidarlos”, which failed commercially. However, Sanz found success in 1991 with “Viviendo Deprisa”, selling over a million copies in Spain. In 1995, Sanz released "La fuerza Del Corazón," a poignant and emotional song that marked his first chart success. A decade later, his collaboration with Shakira on "La Tortura" became a worldwide hit.
Alejandro Sanz has won an impressive 22 Latin Grammy Awards and four Grammy Awards.
