We can celebrate the return of the Czech Republic to the Eurovision Song Contest together with a wonderful duo: Marta Jandová is a well-known singer not only in her home country but also in Germany, where she celebrated her biggest successes. Václav Noid Bárta is a popular composer, actor, arranger, and of course - singer!
Marta Jandová was born in Prague into an artistic family. In 1993, she moved to Germany and started singing in a rock band called Die Happy. In 2000, they released Supersonic Speed, the first of their eight studio albums. The band has received several nominations for the major Echo and Eins Live Krone music awards and has played more than 1,000 concerts.
In 2011, Marta sang Hit The Goal with her sister, which was an official anthem of the German national women's football team and became a part of the FIFA Women's World Cup. In Germany she presided over the competition Popstars on Pro7.
Václav Noid Bárta
Bárta's interest in music began at the age of four. He learnt to play the piano, flute and clarinet and later, self-taught, the guitar, bass and percussion instruments. Over the years in the field of pop and rock music he has collaborated as a composer, arranger, and singer with some of the leading Czech musicians.
In recent years he has performed roles in a number of stage musicals. He composed the music for the musical Němcová and the film Kajínek, in which he also appeared as the title character's prison mate. He composed and sang the title song to the television series The Mall, and he also appears in the series Weddings in Venice.
A solo CD, Václav NOID Bárta, has been released, where as well as cover versions of hits, we can find his own compositions in which he collaborated with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and lead violinist Gabriela Demeterová.
